I’m a photographer, retoucher and graphic designer based in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
My priority and current focus is photography—portrait photography, to be more precise. I’ve always been fascinated with lighting and composition, which is a recurrent object of study on my work.
Trying to achieve the most excellent results, I decided to study high-end retouching. It’s now part of my usual workflow, using techniques such as dodge and burn to get a polished but natural look.
Lastly, I’m a graphic designer by trade. Since 2009 I’ve been working with international clients on diverse projects, ranging from branding and logo design to UI/UX development.
Photography, on its purest form, is painting with light. It’s a representation of light and shadows—therefore, black and white.
Even though color photography is everywhere, nothing beats the simplicity and timeless quality of black and white photography. Working without color accentuates light, form and texture, creates a unique interpretation of reality, and forces the viewer to read the subject’s expression. That’s why most of my work is monochrome.More About Me
Graphic designer by trade. Photographer by passion. Follower of Christ by grace.
In 2009 I graduated in graphic design from TEP PUCMM, where I learned the basics of analog photography. Years later, I continued studying photography theory: lighting, composition, and so on.
At first, it was a hobby. But, working as a designer, I decided to pursue a photography carreer that went alongside my freelance design work. It quickly became my priority and passion.
Then, in 2016, I graduated in Theological Studies from Academia Ministerial de la Gracia, answering God’s higher calling on my life. This shaped my cosmovision, and gave me a fresh perspective on art in general, and photography in particular.
It’s my desire as a Christian to honor Jesus Christ in everything I do, working as for the Lord and not for men.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8–9
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23–24
